Basalt Tile Restoration with Rhino Diamond Polishing Pads

Here we have a quick example of restoring a 200 year old Basalt tile floor in a church in Derbyshire. The floor wasn’t in a particularly good condition and had seen years of wear, water damage, contaminants dripping from the wooden roof above and basically needed restoring as quickly and cost effectively as possible.

There wasn’t any budget for lippage removal, grinding or repairs. So in came Rhino diamond polishing pads to clean and polish the basalt tiles. The Rhino pads cleaned the floor very well with all of the surface dirt cut from the stone.

The polishing process was simply a matter of moving from a coarse pad through medium, through fine to very fine. With each pass vacuuming up the spent diamonds and any stone residue; very easy.

    The Rhino Diamond Pad System

Rhino Diamond Pads are the newest innovative system in the cleaning and polishing world for hard floor surfaces. The Rhino Diamond Pad system is incredibly versatile; it can be used wet or dry with all sizes and makes of auto scrubber, high and low speed, rotary floor scrubber polishers or UHS burnishers above 2000 rpm.

The Rhino Diamond Pad system uses impregnated micro diamonds as it restores, cleans and polishes the surface. The diamond crystal sizes are very carefully selected for each grade of pad to allow terrazzo, natural and manufactured stone, polished concrete and agglomerates to be deep cleaned and then maintained to a quality finish.

    Floor Restoration With Rhino

Rhino diamond floor polishing pads are highly effective as restoring old and worn tile and stone floors. You just need to start with the coarsest pad. Use this grade of pad to strip away old sealers, grease and grime or any deep scratches within soft stone. From there one you work through finer grades of rhino pads until you reach a level of shine that you are satisfied with.
